Nested in the heart of the Italian peninsula, halfway between Rome and Florence, lies Umbria. With its hill-top towns and ancient castles, sunflower fields and olive groves, it is a region steeped in history, art and culture. Its cuisine and wines rival those of its neighbours Tuscany and Lazio, and its beauty, second to none, has earned it the title "The Green Heart of Italy". Around Umbria, bordering Tuscany and the Trasimeno Lake, Umbria Rentals offers a variety of short and long-term accommodation. Through friends and family, we have collected unique medieval and renaissance properties including apartments, villas, farmhouse stays, hotels and B&Bs. Through availability calendars, currency converters, slide shows and descriptions of the properties and the area, we aim to provide all the information required to decide if our properties are right for you. If they are, let us be the ones to welcome you to Umbria, "The Green Heart of Italy".

Most of the properties are located in Panicale, a fortified hilltop town south of the Lake Trasimeno. Like many of its neighbours in Umbria and Tuscany, Panicale contains artistic and architectural treasures from the middle ages and the renaissance. Treasures that people stuck on tourist trails and unaware of their existence never get the chance to see. In its three restaurants, fresh pasta, truffles and wild boar are more the rule than the exception, and at the bar, Aldo's coffee machine is always on. Festivals, concerts, feasts and religious events are commonplace, and will give you a wonderful insight into the inhabitant's daily lives. Panicale's ideal location, halfway between Rome and Florence, makes it the perfect base to explore the hill top towns of Umbria and Tuscany, as well as making day trips to the Roman and Renaissance capitals of the world.
