Going up a flight of stairs, its visitors
are welcomed by a picturesque red brick arched loggia, which
has given its name to this apartment. The spacious loggia
provides protection from the midday summer sun or the spring
rain when enjoying a glass of wine, dining, or just reading
a book. A record of twenty people has been known to dine
here. It overlooks the sunflower and wheat fields.
Entering through its glass doors, one accesses the living
and dining areas. The rustic solid wood dining table will
seat six people, Meals for them can be cooked through the
four hub gas stove, washing up is done in the spacious sink,
and leftovers placed in the fridge. Like the other apartments,
there is no built-in oven. If you do not feel like lighting
the outdoor wooden one, a small electric oven can be requested
when checking in.
The dining and living room area gives access to a hall from
which the double bedroom can be reached. This bedroom is
furnished with a dresser, mirror, and an armoire. When waking
up in the morning, the first sight will be the vaulted ceiling
with authentic wooden beams holding up the handmade red
and pink bricks.
In the second bedroom, they were able to save and restore
the original 1777 handmade brick floors. An armoire and
chairs fit in, but not much more. The window overlooks the
Macchione’s garden, with its trees and lawn.
The little hall gives access to the bathroom, fully tiled
and equipped with a shower. The hall also has a door, usually
kept locked, which gives access to the Scaletta apartment,
making this a perfect choice for groups of six to ten people.
